Where/How did you meet?: We met walking our dogs.

How did he propose?:  Jeremy had a dozen long stemmed roses delivered to work and the card said "today is a new day". I was having a rough week so I thought he was just being sweet.  I went home after work and went to lay down to relax and he brought up a pint of my favorite ice cream (chocolate fudge brownie).  Again still thinking it was being I had a bad week I opened it up and there was a scooped out hole in it and my engagement ring sitting in it.  He got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him.

How long were you engaged?:  We were engaged from Feb 4, 2011 to March 10, 2012 when we got married.

What was the most important part of planning the wedding for you?: The most important part of the planning was for the wedding to reflect Jeremy and I and to not stress

What was the most difficult part?:    The most difficult part was not having family in town to be able to shop with, etc.  There was a lot of emailing, texting, and calling.

What was your theme, if you had one?: The only theme for the wedding and overall goal was to make our wedding like a huge party for everyone.

What vendors did you use?: Photographer – Forever Photography by Kylene   Ceremony and Reception venue – Pebble Hill Plantation and UNO Hill Barn at Pebble Hill  Cake Designer – Artistic Confections   Bartending – Lisa’s Bartenders   Rentals – Party Party Party   Manis/Pedis morning of wedding – Millenium Nail and Day Spa   Limo for bachelorette party – Top Hat Limos

What advice would you give a current bride?:  The advice that I would give a current bride, which I did myself was to say the day before and day of to not stress.  What happens is going to happen and to focus more on the memories and enjoying yourself.

Would you change anything if you could go back?: The only thing I would change would be to have a check list of at the very beginning of what I wanted and to take care of it as early as possible, but for the most part, I feel like I had the most amazing wedding a bride could ask for.

What was your favorite part of the wedding day?:  I wouldn't have asked for it to go any other way, but if I had to chose it would be walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Jeremy for the first time.

Where/How did you meet?: Kev and I met in 2009 when I went to Orlando with my friend Jenny to visit Kevin’s brother Matt.  Jenny, Matt, and I have been friends since high school and we finally got back in touch after a few years apart.  I knew Matt had a brother (Kevin) but we never talked (I am a couple of years older than him).  When we arrived to Orlando, the three of us were catching up and waiting for Kevin to get home so we could go to dinner.  I still remember when he walked through the door. The entire weekend Kevin and I spent a lot of time together, and the rest is history.

How did he propose?:  It was Easter Sunday, 2011.  Kevin woke me up and told me the Easter bunny had come to visit.  Of  course I felt horrible because all I had gotten him was a card.  He told me there were 7 eggs hidden in the living room I had to find.  Each egg I found had a piece of candy and a little note.  One of my favorite eggs and actually the sixth egg I found had a ring pop in it with a note that said I’ll love you forever.  I continued searching the living room and Kevin finally asked if I wanted help finding the seventh egg.  I said yes, and he pulled out a beautiful Faberge egg that the ring was in and got down on his knee and proposed

How long were you engaged?:  8 months

What was the most important part of planning the wedding for you?: Because I had moved to Orlando over the summer, my mother in law played a huge part in planning the wedding since it was going to be in Tallahassee.

What was the most difficult part?:  Being so far away.

What was your theme, if you had one?: New Year’s Eve

What vendors did you use?: Forever by Kylene, Katie’s Cakes, Touch Of Class Florist, Andrew’s Catering

What advice would you give a current bride?:  Try not to get stressed out, when the big day finally comes it will all be worth it!  Every single second of it!

Would you change anything if you could go back?: Maybe starting the ceremony and reception earlier.

What was your favorite part of the wedding day?: Having all of the people we love in one room to share in our special day!

Southwood House & Cottages
June 11, 2011

Newlyweds, Jessica and Kevin Hester, exchanged their vows at the historic SouthWood House in Tallahassee on a beautiful June afternoon. Jessica and her bridesmaids finished getting ready upstairs at the SouthWood House, while Kevin and his groomsmen got ready in the Magnolia Cottage behind the main house. The ceremony took place outside, under majestic oaks. Later, everyone enjoyed signature cocktails and delicious food at the reception in front of the house. The band had guests dancing for hours! At the end of the night, guests saw out the new Mr. and Mrs. Hester by throwing rose petals. Take a look at this gorgeous Tallahassee wedding!

Where/How did you meet?: We met in Tallahassee when we were both out with friends.

How did he propose?:  He cooked dinner for me.  After dinner, he dropped to one knee and popped the question.

How long were you engaged?:  13 months

What was the most important part of planning the wedding for you?:    I always knew I wanted an outdoor wedding, so picking the perfect location was very important.

What was the most difficult part?:  We had an outdoor ceremony and reception planned, so deciding whether or not we needed to put up a tent in case of rain a few days in advance was the most difficult decision.  We decided not to put up the tent, and the weather was perfect!

What was your theme, if you had one?: Birds (theme)

What vendors did you use?: Kay Meyer Photography, Southwood House and Cottages, Klassic Katering, In Tent Events, On the Rocks Bartending, & Missy Gunnels,

What advice would you give a current bride?:   To enjoy your day.  It flies by!

Would you change anything if you could go back?: I would have cut the cake earlier in the night

What was your favorite part of the wedding day?: My favorite part of the day was spending it with  my family and close friends.
